Depends what you do on your laptop. Windows Defender is a very capable antivirus on it's own.

This is like asking, "Do I have to wear clothes outside?" It's HIGHLY suggested. On the plus side, Windows includes an antivirus program, Defender, so you have some clothes already. Whether they are warm, stylish, or fit you properly is a different matter.
