What is the difference between a laptop and chrome null

With a Chromebook you can ONLY download apps from the google Play store. It's more like a tablet than a laptop in that respect. You can't download Microsoft Word or Screenwriting software or any additional programs you want to run. Not sure how much hardware storage is available for downloading music/movies/games either. It's meant for things to be done online but not stored.
