QuestionYou do not require a docking station. A simple USB to Ethernet adapter is all that is required. I have a J5 that is a 10-100-1000 unit. Or there are 2.5 and 3.5 G connectors. Watch what you get. There are USB and Type C connectors so be aware of that.

- Answer Yes. I upgraded mine to 1 TB and added 8 more GB of memory to 16 GB. I believe that's the max. Also, you can add a SATA 2.5 inch SSD drive. There is a spot for that inside. You'll have to pick up the SATA cable for about 12 bucks at Amazon.

Questioncan this laptop hand programs like design space, inkscape, and vcarve pro? I run a few business' that use these programs and need to update my computers. I need this to at least run the vcarve if nothing else. the others are a bonus

- Answer The speed is great and it has a 512GBbstorage drive. It should work well for a college student as long as they don't store a ton of useless junk. A USB connected external CD drive could be used to store junk. The computer is very lightweight.
