  • QuestionCan the SSD be easily upgraded to a larger capacity one? 256GB is pretty small for today's standards.

    • Answer I upgraded mine with a 1TB M.2 NVME SSD, 1TB was the max that was listed for the second drive, but that might not be the true limit. It also supports SATA, probably either HDD or SSD, but only one of them was listed as officially being supported. IT DOES NOT come with the standoff needed for an m.2, though, so you'll need to purchase some (I got M2.O*2.5mm standoffs/screws). The RAM is also upgrade-able, with only one slot being used as it ships. I upped mine to 16gb, but more is theoretically compatible.

  • QuestionCan the Nvidia Optimus be turned off?

    • Answer This laptop has optimus, but it can't be turned off. I have the same laptop and the lenovo vantage dashboard does not have the option to turn off optimus. If you want to bypass optimus you also can't because the HDMI port does not connect to the GPU.

    • Answer No. This Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Gaming Laptop, model number 82K1015EUS, ships with the Intel AX201 NV WiFi-6 Chip installed for wide range/high speed 2x2 802.11ax frequency WiFi capability, which is also backward compatible to older a/b/g/n/ac frequency WiFi frequencies as well.

  • QuestionWill 32gb of ram will work for this laptop?

    • Answer I think the online documentation says 16gb, but the laptop itself (within the Lenovo Vantage software) says 64gb is the max. I would be inclined to believe the 64gb, personally. 32 will probably work, 16gb works for sure - that's what I upgraded to. I'm not sure why the online documentation wouldn't reflect the limit that the laptop seems to be saying.

  • QuestionCan I add a 2.5" 1TB SSD to this on top of the exist 256GB? And on the RAM can I go above the 16GB (8 exist.) + (8 new) and add say another 16GB or 32GB stick to the exist 8GB? Thanks for the response.

    • Answer It depends on what you're doing if you're gaming on battery then yes. If you're checking email and watching videos no. If it's the latter, open up task manager and see if a background app is using up resources before pinpointing the battery.

    • Answer This laptop is probably overkill for Minecraft (unless maybe modded) and definitely for Roblox. Rust, I'm not sure. Things like Fortnite, Rocket League, etc, should run great and probably to the full 120hz. But, it might be a bit overkill for some of those as well.

  • QuestionCan this work without a battery and just the adaptor that come with?

    • Answer Yes. I inadvertently forgot to reconnect the battery when I was upgrading the ram and storage on my sons machine. The computer worked fine till I unplugged it while my son was still using it and the laptop powered off. I had to go back in and reconnect the battery. LOL!
