“What type of RAM addition is compatible with this computer? As in what brand/size can it take? (I know it can hold up to 8GB of RAM, that's not the size I mean.)”

It only has 1 slot so you have to remove the 4G installed one (Actually it can take up to a 16G), I put an 8G AData DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) CAS Latency 17 1.2V. Is working flawless.

We recommend you consult your certified technician for your options. This configuration has 4GB of RAM soldered to the motherboard. It is not removable. There is one additional RAM memory slot. The maximum RAM this slot can support is 8GB, for a system total of 12GB RAM.
