Hi again luislast, The memory is not upgradable as it is soldered to the systemboard (dual-channel, 16GB) and this IdeaPad Slim 3 features an M.2 2242 SSD slot. Given the storage slot the system features, the maximum storage the system can support is a 1TB M.2 SSD.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.do not buy any laptop with soldered memory. If the memory fails, you cannot replace it and you have to throw the laptop away. At least that is what I have been told by the Geek Squad. Anyone care to comment?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The answer to this is unclear, confusing, and possibly contradictory. According to the manual, the unit is available in the following configurations: LPDDR5 : 4 GB / 8 GB / 16 GB DDR4 : 4 GB / 8 GB / 16 GB This would imply that there are versions with LPDDR5 and DDR4, though both might top off at 15GB Also, if you look at the manual it gives these details: For IdeaPad Slim 3 14AMN8, IdeaPad Slim 3 14IAH8, IdeaPad Slim 3 14IAN8, IdeaPad Slim 3 14IRH8, IdeaPad Slim 3 14IRU8, IdeaPad Slim 3 15AMN8, IdeaPad Slim 3 15IAH8, IdeaPad Slim 3 15IAN8, IdeaPad Slim 3 15IRH8, IdeaPad Slim 3 15IRU8, IdeaPad Slim 3 16IAH8, IdeaPad Slim 3 16IRH8 and IdeaPad Slim 3 16IRU8: • Type: LPDDR5 on board • Number of physical slots: 0 For IdeaPad Slim 3 14ABR8, IdeaPad Slim 3 15ABR8 and IdeaPad Slim 3 16ABR8: • Type: DDR4 on board • Number of physical slots: 0
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately, this is not a forum so "Anonymous" may never see my answer, but.... I did want to add that bad RAM wouldn't necessitate replacing the entire laptop; you could just replace the motherboard (though granted, this would probably be almost as much). Also, RAM is probably the least likely component to fail of any of the non-moving parts in a PC; narratively speaking, I've had the same RAM in computers that I have owned for double-digit years, and never had a problem with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yup soldered memory sounds like a big fail on Lenovo’s part. But laptops are made to not last very long anyhow so 16gigs of soldered might be enough for the life of the laptop
