In regard to can you do it, well I have been doing that for quite a while now. In regard to if it affects the lifespan, it has some software on the device to manage when it will take charge to help extend the battery in various scenarios.

If you have a desire to do so, please consider enabling battery preservation features like battery threshold in Lenovo Vantage / Legion Space. This allows you to set when the battery will start and stop charging within a certain range to help prevent an accelerated decrease in battery health if plugged in constantly, as the battery cells were meant to be charged and depleted, not consistently charged.
