There are a number of reasons for this behavior when gaming on gaming desktops, but the most common are overheating (CPU/GPU), and GPU driver or hardware issue. To iron out the later, we recommend searching for the latest drivers via Legion Space on your husband's PC or you can go to NVIDIA's site directly. After updating the graphics drivers, if the issue persists, please monitor if the issue only happens when gaming. If this is the case, to rule out overheating, we recommend monitoring CPU and GPU temps and if either get at or above 90 degrees Celsius when gaming before the shutdown, this may be the root of the issue.
