“Since it only has Display port 1.2 what is the point of 240hz in this monitor? Doesn't display port 1.2 run at 144hz the most for 1080p and 1440p? I dont see any reason for 240hz, can someone explain? Also, what version of hdmi does this monitor have?”

No it will do 240 on dp 1.2 and hdmi.
