The home app unfortunately
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your question! The Google Home app will be required during the initial setup. You can also use the app to establish routines and totally customize your experience when saying commands such as "Hey Google, Good Morning". Routines can be customized to run through a list of items, so you don't have to ask for each task. For example, my "Good Morning" routine will tell me the weather, what my commute to work will be, and my first calendar item. You can fully customize this to whatever features you'd like. Other than the initial setup, you won't need to use the app regularly, if at all. Most general settings can be done on the Clock menu or by simply asking Google to assist (such as dimming the brightness or turning up volume). I hope this answers your question.
