I personally have never been shown an advertisement on this device or other Google smart displays I own. I have in the past received questionable emails with calendar event information and files that was picked up by my Gmail account and automatically added to my upcoming events. I quickly blocked the sender and deleted the calendar entries and never saw those "upcoming events" again.

You can use Google Assistant to set an alarm: Talk to the Lenovo Smart Clock. Say something like: Hey Google, set an alarm for 8 a.m. Or, Method 2 - 1.
