• I would think so. Has metal back, and install a good screen protector.

• I worked for a while repairing iiPads for NYC kids, and I saw some that looked like they had a baseball bat taken to them. You had to wear gloves just to pick up some of them, since the glass would give cut you or give you splinters. So nothing is invulnerable. But if you handle any tablet in a reasonable manner, it can last you for years.
