The i5 is made to do light video editing. I play video games on mine all the time. The concern you may have is the small hdd on the i5 version.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The clock speeds for Core i5 vs. Core i7 aren't that different these days. Rather, the i7 chips are designed to multitask much more effectively than the i5's, so if you're going to be running multiple applications, especially the video editing stuff, on a regular basis, you'll see the benefit the i7 brings. If you're the type that usually on runs 1-2 applications at a time, then you probably wouldn't even notice the difference between them.

The laptop does not have a graphics card which you will need for high end gaming etc and if your doing high end gaming you better off searching for a computer with a graphics card on it. I use it with Photoshop just find as long as I'm not doing 3D rendering. If your doing video editing your better off with a laptop with a graphics card.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My company has all i5s, and a couple programmers have no issues doing their work on the i5. i7 is great, but if on a budget then dont worry about it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My friend bought the yoga with the I core5 and it's a great laptop. It will be great for basic video editing and all your school needs. We also have a Sony Vaio with I core5 and I always use Sony Vegas Pro and it works flawless.
