What I would recommend doing is to add this item to your Wishlist and your Wishlist will notify you when this item becomes available in your area. It also notifies you if the item goes on sale.

After speaking with several chat reps and local BB sales reps, I was told that the 8gb model was being removed from their inventory and won't be available in my area at all. At one point in time, the site listed it as available PICKUP only at 2 stores in my area, but I was not able to make it to those locations. A day later, UNAVAILABLE everywhere.

Hopefully that will increase some battery life at sacrifice of performance. Also hoping that 4GB memory is enough for me. 128GB ssd is not a big issue. I'm going to install some light games(FIFA 14, dota2...) and that won't take up much space. But storage is always "the larger, the better".

It is weird, but bestBuy doesn't ship to some stores directly if you choose option "Ship to Store". I had the same issue and this solution worked for me.

Fortunately on my visit to NY for something unrelated, I just randomly inquired and was fortunate to find it available only one store NY, Lexington Av at 83rd St. I put all my appointments on hold and rush to get this model. Have been using it every since and love it. The itch I had was, when shelling out about $1000 bugs couple more hundred will double the configuration, lucky I got it.
