Chris, you don't need to lower the resolution. With windows 8.1 you can have different object sizes for each monitor. In desktop right click on the screen and select screen resolution, then make text and other items larger or smaller, uncheck let me choose one scaling level for all my displays. Then select the size you prefer. I use Larger for the laptop screen and smaller for my 23 inch monitor. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had a similar issue with my Yoga 2. I have an 19" HP monitor with a much lower native resolution. I hooked it up as an alternate monitor which means the Lenovo screen turns off on that setting and the resolution on the HP drops down a lot. I got big icons and big fonts but really not an issue for me because I am using it for viewing typing in Word that I do a lot. Now when I pull the HDMI cable out the Lenovo resets to native resolution which I like. I do not want to muck around changing the Lenovo resolutions for the HP set up to get smaller fonts. I do not use the HP all the time so I am happy.
