That's not ram, that is storage. Get your terms straight! I think about 40GB was used for OS and junk.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.256gb is hdd capacity not ram size.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. How much ram is 8gb, you mean hard drive space. Out of the 256gb you get about 220 for practical use. No computer, phone, or any device with a hard drive allows you to access all the advertised capacity. The system requires a percentage of it. Look at your current computer, see how much you use and if you use less than 220gb now you can probably go with this, if you use much more then you may need an external drive or another computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So far I've used all but 60 GB, primarily due to all the pictures I keep on my PC. Plan to use an external hard drive going forward to save pictures, so hopefully, that will leave me plenty of memory.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.8 Gig is all you need for Windows 8.1
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ram, well that's hard as windows uses ram to help cache temp files to save the ssd life. But typically out the the 8gb on the i7 model, I use about 2gb doing nothing. If ive got a bunch of web pages open, slacker, and some other things that uses about 4gb all together. If I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 13, then about 6 gb is used.
