• Yes it is and it can be turned on or off by pressing the "Fn" key and "Space" key (same time), pretty cool feature!

• Yes keyboard lights up, controlled by Function Key + Space Bar or software switch.

• The keyboard light cane on for like a second or two on start up. unless there's something in the settings I am not sure. Antsy, I had way too many problems & after trying two of them returned it for a refund. I was very disappointed.
