No, however installing additional memory to any machine without considering the processor is similar to overkill. If you want to improve performance you'll also need to consider a new processor and hope the hardware can support the upgrades as well. Designing a computer is a science and clock speeds, processors, and memory are all well-thought ideas when building a laptop. Unlike a desktop laptops aren't as customizable.
