The laptop swaps back and forth between video cards as needed. It uses the Intel card until you run a graphics heavy application, then it automatically swaps to the NVIDIA card. I suppose you could disable the NVIDIA card, but that's not going to save you any battery life. All that will do is limit what you are able to do.
