Q: QuestionI purchased a Lenovo Yoga 7i laptop on Feb 2, 2024 from the store. I've never had a Lenovo but got a good deal on it. One week to the day I got a blue screen saying 'your device ran into problems and needs to restart'. On a new device? Should I return it?
Asked by debjeane.
- A:Answer **One blue screen on a new laptop does not automatically mean it’s defective.** A single BSOD within the first week is often caused by a **driver update, Windows update, or firmware settling in**, especially on a brand-new system. That said, here’s the practical guidance: **Do not panic if it happened once.** * Windows sometimes crashes once during early updates or driver installs. * If it hasn’t repeated, it’s not enough evidence to call the hardware bad. **You SHOULD return or exchange it if:** * The blue screen **happens again**, especially more than once. * You see different error messages or increasing instability. * It occurs during normal use, not just during updates or restarts. **What to do immediately (before deciding):** 1. Run **Windows Update** fully (including optional updates). 2. Install **Lenovo Vantage** and update BIOS, chipset, and drivers. 3. Monitor for another crash over the next few days. **Why returning is reasonable if it repeats:** * You’re still within the retailer return window. * Early instability on a brand-new device is a valid reason to exchange. * You should not have to troubleshoot a new laptop long-term. **Bottom line:** One blue screen alone is not a red flag, but **two or more is**. If it happens again, return or exchange it without hesitation.

Q: QuestionWhat wi-fi adapter is in the Yoga PC. I need specific manufacturer and part number. Is it Intel BE202 or exactly what?
Asked by wifi7.
- A:Answer The Lenovo Yoga 7i (16 inch, i7-1355U) uses an Intel wireless adapter. Manufacturer: Intel Model / Part: Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 Interface: CNVio2 (integrated with 13th-gen Intel platform) Wireless standard: Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) Supported bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz Bluetooth: Bluetooth 5.3 This model does not use the Intel BE202 (Wi-Fi 7). The AX211 is the correct and expected adapter for this Yoga 7i configuration. You can confirm this on your specific unit by opening Device Manager, expanding Network adapters, and looking for “Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211.”

Q: QuestionIs this laptop good for stay at home work?
Asked by R.
- A:Answer Yes! It has a large screen, and has no problem driving a second monitor if you add one. I have mine on a desk with a USB to Ethernet converter that also has addition USB ports. I use those ports for my wireless keyboard and mouse. That way when I'm at the desk I can use it like a desktop, and if I move to the couch or out on the deck I can use it like a laptop. It's a powerful laptop with lots of premium specs that make it a perfect option for almost any task.
