• The top and bottom of this device is aluminum. The frame around the keyboard and screen are plastic.

• From what I have read it's magnesium. My 900 is silver. Looks like aluminum or plastic. Hard to tell by pecking on it. I think it would be easy to scratch. Great machine so far.
