No, the video signal goes through the USB-C port. You can use a USB-C to HDMI port if you need a HDMI connection.

The absence of an HDMI port seems to be more and more common with newer machines, but I have been very happy with the performance of my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. It just plugs into the HDMI port on any TV or monitor and establishes its own connection to the laptop. No WiFi needed so it works anywhere and everywhere.
