“Is it possible to remove the glass layer?”

• I wouldn't recommend it. The glass is recessed flush with the metal edge of the lid and probably well-glued. I purchased a highly protective spec FlapTop Sleeve - designed for Macbook Air 13" but the YOGA 910 fit fine if just a little snug when inserting and removing the laptop. I also purchased a geek squad extended service plan which includes accidental damage protection. The glass lid is attractive and I don't think it adds more than ~0.05 lb. and no apparent thickness.
