Hi, TXCatLady. The air intake is located on the bottom of the Yoga 9i and is ejected at the rear of the device. Regarding the heat produced, this Yoga features an active cooling system, along with other components and software, enabling the user to power through work without throttling due to heat produced. So long as your air intake and exhaust are not obstructed, your system should remain relatively cool. During intensive workloads it may become warm but should not be uncomfortable to touch.
