I tried the 30-day trial McAfee LiveSafe, but I found it slow to scan also. I uninstalled it, and downloaded BitDefender AntiVirus Free. So much faster!

Microsoft's build in Windows Defender has moved up to become one of the best AV applications in the market. The best part is, it's FREE with Windows 10 and it's already installed on your machine. Updates are pushed with the normal weekly MS updates.
