• Yes. When it gets to the percentage you set it at, it stops running and only comes back on when it needs to.

• It has several "auto" modes for that purpose, but in my experience they don't function very accurately. I contribute that to an ineffective humidistat design that doesn't sample properly. They can be set easily, however, from either the unit or the associated App.
