You know its sanitizing because the UV light is on (glows purple). 

We have LG Stylo 4 and 5 phones in our house. Both seem to trigger the sterilizing function when dropped in without their external add on charging coil and with out an external case

With a protective case on neither phone trigger sanitizing light and its intermittent whether the phones charge when they have an after market charging coil inside the case
My feeling is that thickness and materials used in the external case cause too large an airgap for reliable operation. 
Maybe better charging coils and thinner cases will solve the issues or simply a phone built for wireless charging

Hi, 

Yes OBLIO will sanitize your phone screen (or the back of your phone after flipping it around) even though your phone is not wireless charging capable. The functions work independently. As long as your phone fits inside of the OBLIO, it can be sanitized. The day you'll upgrade your phone to a more recent model, with Wireless Charging capability, you'll be able to enjoy the full potential of the product.
