Not unless you are familiar with micro wave repair. Buy another one. Safer and rewarding

In any meighborhood anywhere in the US I would always suggest adding a surge protector to the wall socket and plugging in the microwave to it. Normally when electrical devices are powered off they are somewhat protected even though voltage spikes can jump a power switch. Microwaves are always connected to the power and vulnerable to brownouts and lightening surges. You might take your unit to a local appliance repair for an estimate. If the estimate is half or more than half the cost of a replacement then your money would better be spent on a replacement and a surge protector. I would suggest a wall plugin surge unit like the Tripp-Lite Protect It Swivel 6 , plug it over your duplex outlet and it offers 6. 1500 Joule current protection which should be good. It isn't terrible expensive to save a $400 microwave. You can buy the Best Buy Black Tie agreement and protect your investment too. I would suggest to get both surge and Black Tie. That way you have done everything to reasonably protect the microwave. Make sure your surge unit is rated at least 1500 Joules.
