• Yes it opens and closes easily. No slamming. There's a button to open it.

• We are not clear on what would qualify as a door closing easily, but the door on the LG 1.5 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven with EasyClean™, Model # LCRT1513ST swings easily and freely and when closing the door, you do not need to slam it, but you will need to give it a slightly firm push to get the latch to close...^IFV
