The control panel on the LG 1.8 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven with EasyClean®, Model # LMV1831ST does not light up. Only the clock illuminates in green in the display...^IFV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO it does not and even with the brightest light in your kitchen, the panel is VERY HARD to see. Seems LG could have covered the panel with a clear (not dark) cover and made the letters and numbers in BRIGHT WHITE.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. It does not light up and is unreadable. The photos LG provides show a nice visible illuminated display but that is not what they provide. If you do not plan on memorizing the location and function of each button location, this is not the microwave for you. Had I known how bad the keypad was before I purchased and installed this microwave, I never would have bought it. Also note that photo and LG spec sheet say the clock uses green digits. It does not. It uses harsh white digits.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ditto on all the above! We replaced an older LG with this model, in which the panel had all writing in white. No backlighting either, but not necessary with the white, high-contrast letters. This one is SOOO bad, that I initially thought, 'Oh, they're using backlighting now to illuminate the keys!' Surely they wouldn't make a control panel black, with the font a dark gray just a few shades lighter! It's stealth! And it's come to your kitchen! Get out your printer and make labels to tape over these well-hidden keys! The upside is that you will find this microwave no more difficult to operate in the dark, than in ideal conditions. LG, if the idea was to create a clean look, you have succeeded. But please provide a paper template to map out the approximate locations and functions of the keys, otherwise it's no more than a piece of contemporary art. Lighting and viewing angles vary, and you have created a best-case scenario with this control panel. By the way, do you sell an external light kit accessory to illuminate the face of this appliance?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just bought one and can't read anything on it! I was sure it would have to turn on, but it doesn't?!? VERY disappointed!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the control panel does not light up. However, the Microwave does have an 'awesome' power saving feature that turns off the LED clock - So .... when I have to use my kitchen lights to work the oven it makes one wonder who came up with the power saver idea? I would not have purchased this product if I knew the control panel did not light up!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have no light on the display panel, we now have to use a flashlight. Didn’t know this before we purchased it. As far as we are concerned this makes it a piece of garbage. We thought LG would be smarter than this. We are so mad, we will probably be replacing it! To make matters worse, it’s only a year old. The new one certainly won’t be another LG product
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i agree its hard to see the display of the control panel if you don't turn on the lights in the kitchen. Its a basic feature that would make the oven a fully perfect one
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO
