“Can I put a brighter bulb or higher wattage bulb for the lighting over the stove? The option is either off or on and the "on" is not adequate lighting (it is just a night light).”

Most appliances with lighting have a specific wattage allowances and/or recommendations for their specific product(s) however, brighter light bulbs types are available which may be of a more efficient design such as LED, Fluorescent, halogen etc. each with different "Lumens" or brightness if you prefer. Keep in mind that different light bulb designs may also have different/various plug connection designs also. Do stay within the wattage recommendations by the manufacturer along with the correct bulb plug-in design. If in doubt, take the original bulb with you for comparison and ask a store associate for assistance.
