To empty the unit manually, when the tank is full, the unit will show 'FL' on its display and the air conditioner will turn itself off. You can then remove the water plug in the back of the unit for the upper drain port, insert the end point of the supplied drain pipe and place the other end into a bucket or container that will hold more than 28 ounces of water. Then you can press the Timer and Down buttons on the unit simultaneously to activate the built-in drain pump. You can also disconnect the exhaust hose from the back of the unit and move the air conditioner to a suitable drain location or outside or place a pan under the unit that will hold up to 3 pints of water, remove the drain cap and rubber plug on the bottom drain port outlet and rain the unit...^IFV
