Yes, it does! It's what I use to control it. The Directv remote allows me to control the power & volume not the other features of the soundbar. For example, input, bass boost etc... One word of caution, like the soundbar my TV is an LG. So they are compatible using the LG's "Simpilink" feature. Therefore, I am not sure if the Directv remote will work seamlessly when you are mixing manufacturers. Sorry, I know its not a definitive answer but I hope this helps! - AZ_Tech
