I don’t know what I did, but sound bar linked up with my Samsung tv and remote by itself, I think when I changed speakers in the audio menu, using the optical cord.

Your TV's remote control may be able to control the volume of the soundbar as described on page 17 of the owner's manual https://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-SK1#manuals ^CP
