- Answer This model may either be installed to vent to the outside OR recirculate. The requisite parts and instructions are included. We did not have the option to vent to the outside, so it was important to us that it have sufficient CFMs and filtering to recirculate effectively.

The microwave is shipped with the blower assembled for roof-venting so you will need to adjust it for room-venting. ^CP

- Answer All over-the-range microwaves have less cooking power than what is available on countertop units. Codes and regulations dictate the maximum amperage (power) an appliance can draw from a standard 120 VAC circuit. In a countertop unit this can all be allocated to cooking. An over-the-range unit must also have an exhaust fan, and usually lighting, for the range. Slightly less cooking power, compared to a countertop unit, is available. Look for the power rating in the specifications. This LG is rated 1050 watts. That is quite good for an over-the-range unit. Similarly sized countertop units are 1200 to 1250 watts. I've had this unit for several months and it cooks no slower than the GE unit it replaced. However, it does not cook as fast as the countertop unit I had in my previous home.

- Answer There are plug and play LED replacements for the bulb. I believe it is a GY8.6 type bulb, available on Amazon. Unscrew the panel, pull the old bulb out of the plug, plug in new LED bulb. Bam! Dim light fixed!

- Answer LG has another slightly more expensive model in which the controls/buttons are horizontal across the microwave door instead of in the right upper corner. I think LG uses the same door so even though the controls are not horizontal across the door on this model, the area where the controls/buttons would be is a solid non-see-through black on the door. This is unfortunate and I hope a redesign will make the door easier to see through instead of half of the window blocked so can't see through it.
