The LG SN5Y 2.1 Channel High Res Audio Sound Bar with DTS Virtual:X, Model # SN5Y connects wirelessly via Bluetooth. It can be connected via HDMI or via its Optical Digital Audio Input. You will need to determine which connection works best for you based on what connections the device that you are connecting the Soundbar to has. HDMI is generally the best connection to use that will give you the best quality. DTS Virtual:X is not active at all times. It is one of the selectable Sound Effect modes. You will need to select the Sound Effect that best suits the room that you have the Soundbar installed in. You can also purchase the LG SPK8-S 2.0 Channel Sound Bar Wireless Rear Speaker Kit which will definitely give you the most immersive and room filling experience and upgrade the Soundbar to true surround sound via these add-on rear channel speakers.
