Will it work with older Sony tv? null

According to the Owner's manual under Optional equipment connection instructions you should be able to connect via the "port in" connector from the Sony tv audio out port to the LG Port in connection via a 3.5 mm stereo cable then (1)turn on power, (2) press F button on top of sound bar and select the Portable function, (3) turn on the Sony tv and it should play the sound from the tv. Reference: Owners manual, Optional equipment connection, page 14. Owners manual available through www.lg.com for model SH3K. Hope this helps!

Only if the older Sony TV supports optical audio.
