I'm not sure what you mean exactly but I do think the soundbar and subwoofer need to be separated. My soundbar is hardwired with an hdmi to my xbox one then from the xbox one to the tv but the subwoofer is plugged into an outlet approx. 6ft away. The subwoofer is bluetooth so that may be the problem but as far as I can tell plugging the soundbar directly into the tv or xbox, etc. should be fine.

Sound bar works great As long as your TV supports Whatever mode you choose the settings need to be adjusted through the TV
