• Yes but the sound is much better with the sub-woofer. The sub-woofer is completely separate and is not even attached (via cables or anything) to the soundbar. All you have to do for the sub-woofer is plug it in. That means you can put it anywhere you want to (it doesn't have to be near the soundbar).

• Yes you can. We live in a townhouse and so in the night I feel like I cannot use the sub woofer. You do not have to hook it up but if you do the remote has a separate volume function for the subwoofer so you can have the sound coming out of the sound bar and not the sub.

• yes you can the sound bar and subwoofer have seperate volume controls or you could just not plug in the subwoofer
