• a small wire connects to the back of the tv to the sound bar. The sub woofer is wireless, but has to plug into a power source as well as the sound bar needs to be plugged into a power source as well.

• No...you have to wire the speakers to your tv. What your friend has is WIRELESS speakers...

• No. It is only wireless to it's own subwoofer. You could buy a Bluetooth transmitter and receiver to get to your receiver wirelessly from the TV, however with a 30' range limit.
