you have to have the connection on the back of the tv to connect to the sound bar. It's connected by a wire with a small plug. My Sharp has the port, but the TV is only 3 yrs old.

Depending on your sanyo tvs outputs. this should. You have 3 possible connections. Your tv will need one of these 3 connections. Bluetooth Optical 3.55 mm out. Most cable boxes regardless of brand have a RCA connection. You can always connect direct to the box via 3.5mm to RCA converter. and get audio direct from the source.
