  • QuestionHow loud is the exhaust fan? Our current Maytag model sounds like a jet plane.

    Asked by Jukski.

    • Answer You know the fan is on, but it is not obnoxious

      Answered by ChelsP

  • QuestionSays it's 17 3/4 inches high, I assume that's on the back of the unit. What's the height on the front of the microwave?

    Asked by Timmah.

    • Answer 17 3/4" is the MAXIMUM height, which is in the middle of the microwave, not the front. The front is only 17" high, and that seems more like 16.25" as the vent tilts back. On the mounting backplate, it's only a smidge over 16" high. Basically, it's not 17 3/4" high on the back or the front, only the midway back. The mounting and visual dimensions are less. Those saying they measured the front to be 17 3/4" are incorrect or didn't actually measure. See picture.

  • QuestionDoes this microwave have Alexa connectivity. If So, where can I find a list of commands? I need a new over the range microwave and want that feature.

    Asked by Bfuqua.

    • Answer No, it does not. Best Buy says it does but "microwave" isn't listed as one of the appliances in the LG Skill and it doesn't show as a device in alexa. I contacted LG and confirmed there are no Alexa commands for this microwave

  • QuestionWhat is the weight of the microwave? Do I need special support to hold it over the rang?

    Asked by pandit.

    • Answer 61.5 lbs as indicated in the specs for the microwave. You should not need any additional support than the bracket that they provided you with in the box. The instructions and templates that is provided was more than adequate for the install in my case.

  • QuestionI’m replacing a “dead” LG model LMH2016 unit. Installed over the stove. Will this unit fit without modifications?

    Asked by Reedr.

    • Answer This replaced a LG LMH2012 OTR version. I was able to use the existing wall bracket as it appeared to be universal. It fit within my cabinet dimensions. I had to drill new holes for the top securing screws. I didnt drill a new cord hole and was able to use the existing one. I may have issues with removing a top screw to replace the carbon filter.

  • Questionwhat is "extedndaVent"

    Asked by Venti.

    • Answer The vent on the bottom when you press in on it it comes out about 6 inches to extend the amount of area that the fan will help remove the heat and also gives you a bigger lip area. But unless you have a well lit, kitchen control panel is not back, lit and it makes it extremely difficult to see the numbers so much so that you have to have a flashlight handy to shine on it

  • QuestionStove top LIGHT(s). Does it have 2 separate light locations OR ONE? Where is light or lights located under the microwave? Center front? Rear? One on Left & one on Right? THANK YOU!!

    Asked by MLHomestead.

    • Answer There is a single led light located center front of the vent hood when the hood is retracted. When the hood is extended the light is then in the center middle of the vents.

      Answered by Vetman

  • QuestionIs there an interior light? If not, is it easy to see the food through the glass door. Want to avoid boiling over issues.

    Asked by JohnO.

    • Answer There is an interior light. Which is adequate. The problem is on the front of the microwave. The instrument panel is not back lit so unless you have a well lit kitchen area, you have to have a flashlight to see the numbers.

  • QuestionCan this microwave's hood be vented to the outside?

    Asked by jcplerm.

    • Answer Hi there. Thank you for sharing your inquiry with us. We understand your inquiry about venting options for your LG over-the-range microwave model MVEL2125F. According to the specifications, this model supports both external (ducted) and recirculating (non-ducted) venting configurations. The exhaust vent is located at the top, allowing you to connect ductwork that directs cooking exhaust to the outside (roof or wall). For external venting, you’ll need to install appropriate ductwork (e.g., 3¼" x 10" rectangular or minimum 6" diameter round) and ensure the total duct length and elbows comply (keep duct runs as short as possible, use a back-draft damper, seal joints, and follow clearance templates). If you prefer recirculating mode, charcoal filters are used, and no external duct is required, though capture efficiency is typically lower than with external venting. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-2-1-cu-ft-over-the-range-smart-microwave-with-sensor-cooking-and-extendavent-2-0-stainless-steel/6508557.p?skuId=6508557 If you need further guidance on planning or performing the vent installation—such as selecting duct size, routing, or template alignment—please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport and our team will be more than happy to explore possible solutions and ensure a smooth installation. • QuestionReplacing a dead LMHM2017ST/01. Is this the same size?

    Asked by njdanielle.

    • Answer Hi, Danipani. Thank you for reaching out to us! The LG Microwave (MVEL2125F) model has a 2.1 cu. ft. capacity, while the LMHM2017ST/01 model has a 2.0 cu. ft. capacity. While both microwaves are quite similar in size, the MVEL2125F is just slightly larger by 0.1 cu. ft. This small difference should not affect your installation or overall experience, but it’s always a good idea to double-check the dimensions of the new microwave to ensure it fits comfortably in your existing space. • QuestionDoes microwave magnetron have active or passive cooling to extend part life? Concern: Using microwave for extended time 12-15m, say for artichokes or other foods that require continuous cook times at 100% power.

    Asked by TooNerdy.

    • Answer Hello there! Thank you for your inquiry regarding the cooling features of the microwave magnetron in the LG MVEL2125F. We understand that you’re concerned about using the microwave for extended cooking times, such as for artichokes or other foods that require continuous cooking at 100% power. The magnetron in this microwave is designed with passive cooling features to help extend its lifespan during regular use. While it doesn't have active cooling mechanisms, the design allows for efficient heat dissipation, ensuring it operates effectively even during longer cooking sessions. This helps maintain performance while minimizing the risk of overheating during extended use. For best practices, it’s always advisable to monitor the microwave during prolonged cooking times, as well as to utilize the sensor cook feature, which determines when your food is ready based on humidity-sensing technology. This feature can help optimize cooking times and prevent overcooking. https://www.lg.com/us/cooking-appliances/lg-mvel2125f-over-the-range-microwave#pdp_specs If you have any further questions or would like more information about this microwave or any other LG products, please feel free to send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport.
