You've probably already purchased this or another washer and/or dryer, but I thought I'd respond to your question for others who happen by here. The whole machine acts like a lint trap, and that's a problem. Lint builds up in the guts of the machine, which are only accessible when the top panel of the washer-dryer is removed. Given a little time, and despite proper care and regular basic-consumera-level maintenance, the build up of lint inside the machine prevents the dryer from drying (I mean, it'll dry, but it takes six to eight hours to dry a normal, not-too-full load). And maybe it's just the way mine was set up, but since this machine was installed, my sink right next to it has been backed up and slow to drain. Maybe that's lint, but I don't know. Do not recommend.

Please try again later. The LG 2.3 cu.ft. 14-Cycle Front-Loading Compact Washer and 7-Cycle Electric Dryer Combo - White, Model # WM3488HW is specially designed to use only HE (High-Efficiency) detergent and you should always use HE (High-Efficiency) detergent with the washing machine. Using a regular detergent may produce excessive suds HE detergents produce fewer suds, dissolve more efficiently to improve washing and rinsing performance, and help to keep the interior of your washer clean. If you use a detergent that does not dissolve easily or a detergent with high viscosity, it will leave a residue on the tub, which may not rinse properly and that can cause a build-up in the tub resulting in unsatisfactory performance and machine malfunction. You also need to inspect the Drain Pump Filter to ensure that it is not clogged with foreign objects or lint. The washing machine fails to drain if the drain pump filter is clogged. Periodically clean the drain filter to prevent clogging with foreign objects. You will find the instructions for how to clean the drain pump filter in the 'Maintenance' section on page 33 of your owner's manual...^IFV
