They go off after about 10 seconds, and they kind of drive me nuts when I'm putting my groceries away. It's not really a big deal and the alarms would really come in handy if you accidentally left the door ajar.

I haven't heard it LG said takes 60 seconds for the alarm to sound when the door is open. I left it open for 2 minutes, there is no alarm. I am ticked off because I wanted a light in the freezer and an alarm so I bought this refrigerator but I only got 1 out of the 2. I would have bought another one. Not sure if you still needed the answer but figured I would answer it.
