“Your video said to change the water filter that the first step is to turn off the water shut off valve. That is behind the refrigerator and I would have to move the unit from the wall. Is there any’ solution to this problem.”

I changed my filter by clearing off the top shelf, putting a towel over it to collect any drips and then just opening the little cover door for the filter and carefully unscrewing it and installing the new one. The filter opening closes itself when You unscrew the filter and reopens itself when the new filter is screwed back into the opening. Pretty simple.

It does not instruct you to turn off the water shut off valve. That is just a precaution. The refrigerator has a built-in bypass filter...^IFV
