“Does the icemaker take up a lot of room in the freezer compartment? (I don't have a water line where I plan to put the fridge and I don't plan on using it.) Will there be any issue if I do not connect it to a water line and NOT USE the icemaker AT ALL?”

I bought this fridge a couple weeks ago and do not have a water line either. The ice maker has an on and off switch. The ice holder bin takes about half of the top portion of the freezer compartment but the bin is removable.

Not connecting a waterline will not have a negative consequence. You can remove the ice bin for extra storage space. ^Daphane

NOt that I can tell. The ice bin is large and I don't use enough ice to warrant the space it takes up so I just make a batch of ice, store it in a zip lock bag and turn off the ice maker until I need more ice.
