For the door to open 90∘ (which is necessary to access all bins and shelves), the unit requires a total width of 33.25" without the handle, or 38.25" with the handle, for the door to open freely against a wall. Since your available space is 31", the door will not be able to open fully if the wall is on the side where the door opens.
