When I was looking at both versions in store, I confirmed that the Black Stainless Steel one IS fingerprint resistant while the regular one is not. Like most "fingerprint resistant" fridges, the front is like a plastic veneer, instead of actual steel which keeps smudges away. Just an added bit of information, this also makes the front NON magnetic. So any magnets and such would need to go on the sides (if you have access to it).
