• Yes, the water is chilled, BUT I can tell you from owning this unit that it is NOT as cold from the outside door as a pitcher of water in the refrigerator. We set the digital marker on the door outside to 34 degrees. It holds steady (have not checked against a thermometer). But again, to answer your question- chilled in the door, but NOT as cold as pitcher held inside. I just double up on ice out of the door! BTW, we really like this LG refrigerator

• Our experience with this model - the first glass of water is cold, but after that you will need ice to have a cold glass of water.
