Tines are there...you can fold them down when you don't need them.

The Tines are actually adjustable (to and bottom). Bottom racks can lay the tines flat if desired; top rack can do the same or angle them. Overall very handy.

There are tines on the top rack. they are adjustable so you can fold them down or to angles to suit your needs

No, there are plenty of tines. There are lots of ways to adjust the tines and racks to your liking. That is one the things I really like about this dishwasher.

This model has tines on both wracks. The tines can be adjusted up or down.
